Wisconsin governor Scott Walker just let the cat out of the bag and the NFL anthem protesting players will never be the same.
Well, that is if the media, the media that is currently fawning all over these players, would report it.
Don’t hold your breath.
But we are happy to report that Scott Walker just checkmated the NFL.
According to the New York Post, Walker told NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that all players should stand during the national anthem to….wait for it… “condemn domestic violence.”
“It is time for players in the NFL to stop protests during the anthem and move on from what has become a divisive political sideshow,” Governor Walker told Roger Goodell.
“Instead, I encourage them to use their voices and influence to take a stand against domestic violence.”
Walker had another jab into the heart of the NFL’s darkest secret when he told Goodell, you know, after all… October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the NFL players are some of the worst domestic abusers in the country.
Remember the horrific video in the elevator when the guy cold cocked his wife and knocked her out cold?
That is not normal behavior and not a one-time event.
And then we all remember how the league basically did nothing to Ray Rice until the public went crazy.
According to Vice, 44 players in the NFL have been accused of sexual or physical assault.
44 is not a small number.
And USA Today has even more bad news – Five players have already been arrested for domestic violence this year.
Governor Walker added the dagger,
“Now would be an especially opportune time to strongly condemn domestic violence and lead the charge in supporting safe families across America,” Walker said.
