Last weekend the Miami Dolphins managed to humiliate themselves and their entire city when they were one of the only teams to KNEEL for than Anthem 2 weeks in a row.
Well, thanks to team owner Stephen Ross, the spoiled sports stars will NEVER be doing that again. Today he FORCED his entire team to stand for the National Anthem during his game against the Tennessee Titans.
According to Ross, who supported the kneeling last year, President Trump’s words changed his mind. He said last year it was about racial equality, but after what Trump said the issue is about patriotism and NOBODY should take a knee to the United States.
‘Trump has made [standing for anthem] about patriotism. It’s so important if that’s what the country is looking at to look at [the protest] differently.’
‘It’s a different dialogue today. Whenever you’re dealing with the flag, you’re dealing with something different. [The President] has changed that whole paradigm of what protest is.’
‘I think it’s incumbent upon the players today, because of how the public is looking at it, to stand and salute the flag.’
At least Ross understands that, when it’s about the American Flag, respect is the ONLY option. Despite 3 of his players decided to stay inside during the anthem, not a single one of them managed to disgrace the country publicly thanks to Ross’s crackdown.
Should more NFL owners do the same and REQUIRE their players to stand for the anthem?
