WATCH: Hundreds of Veterans BOO Michelle Obama at NASCAR Event

Former First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, were booed by NASCAR fans as they were selected as the grand marshals for the race’s final event.

The two were at the homestead-Miami Speedway promoting Joining Forces. This is an organization that promotes hiring and training veterans in the work force.

Army Sgt. Andrew Barry, who is an Iraqi and Afghanistan war veteran, and his family, joined the two as each were announced to the crowd. A clip shows people cheering for the soldier and booing as Obama and Biden’s names were announced.

There were very little sounds of approval for the two, but that seemed to be drowned out by the disapprovers.

News coverage of this event shows disagreement over just how extreme the booing was.

ABC News reported a statement from a source who was with Obama who said no one could even hear the booing over the “loud chaotic program with jets flying over and tons of noise.”

White House Communications Director Kristina Shake didn’t even talk about the booing in a statement she made with CBSNews.com. Instead, Shake focused on how Obama was honored to be at the race to recognize our country’s veterans and military families.

“As she has always said, she will proudly stand with anyone making a major commitment to serve and honor our military community and yesterday, NASCAR did just that.

They paid special tribute to our veterans and military families at the championship race by donating over 5,000 tickets to military families and by honoring Sergeant Berry and his family, true American heroes.

Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden enjoyed their visit to the speedway and are looking forward to working across the country to honor America’s veterans and military families,” explained Shake.

Obama also made an appearance at a NASCAR-Joining Forces barbecue for military families, which she spoke at.

It looks like liberal news is just trying to hide and ignore the fact that so many people, including veterans, booed Obama and Biden at this event.
