Lindsey Graham Just Threatened TWO WORDS That Will Have Mueller Crying Himself To Sleep Tonight

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is known for sometimes being critical of President Trump, but this time he came to the President’s defense- and he really nailed it.

On Friday Senator Graham warned Robert Mueller that as special counsel, he will be personally held responsible for any leaks that occur as a result of his investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 election. 

Mueller has enlisted a grand jury to conduct his investigation. Grand juries typically help determine if a given suspect should be charged in the first place. Evidence will have to be presented to the jury, which has left a possible opening for more leaks of sensitive information.

Graham said in an interview with Fox News of Friday:

“If we get constant leaks coming out of the grand jury then [Mueller] needs to be held accountable for that. That’s not fair to the president.

The two key words here are “held accountable”– if there’s a leak on his watch, the buck stops with him! The senator continued:

“No American, including President Trump or his team, should have the contents of a grand jury leaked out into the press selectively.”

Wow- this is great news from Senator Graham- he is sticking up for President Trump and sending a strong signal to Mueller.

Graham also condemned the massive leaks to the Washington Post of President Trump’s calls to the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Australia, saying:

“I’ve never seen anything like it. … I’ve never seen transcripts of the presidential phone calls in the front page of The Washington Post. How would you like to be a world leader talking to President Trump? So this undermines his ability to be [an] effective president.”

These leaks are unacceptable, and both politicians of all stripes should realize the damage they do to our nation and our credibility on the world stage. Senator Graham gets that.

Mueller now knows that a top Senator has called him out and is holding him accountable. We will just have to wait and see if he manages to keep his grand jury air tight, and we can rest easy knowing there will be major consequences if he doesn’t.
