Donald Trump has always shown the ability to respond to fake media news and stories even while taking some time off.
This time around, he turned his rage to Democrat Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal after he reported that Trump’s office “weaponized” each and every investigation on the leaks regarding the leaked intel on him and his Office.
As the reporter pointed out, Trump’s efforts to bring in every leak down, “politicized” the DOJ completely.Furthermore, he elaborated that Robert Mueller’s investigation might be fruitful after he demanded to impanel a grand jury last week.
“Impaneling the grand jury shows that Bob Mueller is pursuing this potential wrongdoing by the Russians, the attack on our democracy, seriously and diligently — and there is no minimizing or underestimating that attack by the Russians,” Blumenthal stated.
“It was purposeful and relentless, and it involved propaganda and hacking into our voting machines or at least an attempt to do it and potential collusion by the Trump campaign and then obstruction of justice. That investigation must be pursued.”
Trump didn’t waste any time in responding adequately:
“Interesting to watch Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut talking about hoax Russian collusion when he was a phony Vietnam con artist!” Trump noted.
“Never in U.S.history has anyone lied or defrauded voters like Senator Richard Blumenthal. He told stories about his Vietnam battles and conquests, how brave he was, and it was all a lie. He cried like a baby and begged for forgiveness like a child. Now he judges collusion?” Trump explained in two tweets.
This is not the first time that Blumenthal was misleading. Back in 2010, he falsely stated that he served in the Vietnam War. The truth showed that he was recruited in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1970 to 1976, but was never a soldier in Vietnam.
Once called out, Blumenthal noted he “misspoke” about serving in the war and didn’t even bother explaining further on.
Anti-Trump supporters pointed out that the POTUS had four student deferments and one medical deferment, all disabling his draft.
However, it is obvious who the liar in this narrative is. Having Twitter as a way to reach many of his followers and supporters, Trump can easily set the record straight, and we surely appreciate him doing so once again.
