Ever Farted So Bad You Grounded a Plane? One Unfortunate Soul Just Did…

An American Airlines flight had to be grounded for the most bizarre, and unfortunate reason possible – flatulence.
After the regularly scheduled flight from Charlotte to Raleigh-Durham arrived at its destination, at least three crew members had to be treated by emergency medical personnel.
Following online rumors, the airline insisted that “passed gas” was the reason for the disturbance.
Ross Feinstein, a spokesman for American Airlines, released the following statement:
“We did have an aircraft from Charlotte to RDU this afternoon, that landed at 2:19 p.m. ET, and arrived the gate at 2:21 p.m. ET, that is currently out of service for an actual mechanical issue – and odor in the cabin. But It is not due to ‘passed gas’ as mentione
But the crew told a different story regarding that “odor in the cabin.”
Three American Airlines crew members from a flight to RDU complained of eye irritation and headaches from an odor described as flatulence, airport officials said.
RDU officials said EMS was called to Terminal 2 to check out the crew members who complained about the odor, but none was transported.
A RDU operations log shows at 3:34 p.m. the crew members “gave various descriptions of the smell (all indicating an individual had passed gas).”
No passengers were said to have required treatment, but if the crew members were so badly effected, they can’t have been the only ones to smell it.
Of course, naturally no one wants to own up to such a massive social faux pas, nor do most folks like to call out someone for farting in public.
Fortunately for the guilty party, he or she remained anonymous and avoided earth-shattering embarrassment.
