Bailey Salovich, 3, was given a severe and ultimately fatal beating by her father, a boxer, because he believed she needed to be “hard” for her to survive on the streets.
Instead of being supportive, her father hit her as hard as he could. Instead of teaching her kindly about the math questions she was struggling with, he killed her.
And 25-year-old Joshua Salovich admitted to all of it.
According to Meridian, Mississippi Police Detective Kevin Boyd, Salovich hit Bailey every time she got an answer wrong, The Meridian Star reported:
“She apparently did not want to participate and get the correct numbers. He said he would pop her with his hands on her butt and legs when she got a wrong answer ... (he said he) backhanded her several times in the stomach because she kept getting it wrong.”

Things got so bad that she soiled herself as a result of his beating. Eventually, Bailey was taken to the hospital where authorities say she suffered bleeding in the brain, a detached retina, blood in her lungs, and marks all over her body.
When detectives asked how hard the father hit Bailey on a scale of one to 10, “he rated them all 10s, with no hesitation.”
Salovich's reasoning couldn't be any more infuriating. He told investigators:
“This was a tough world and she had to be tough if she wanted to survive.”Salovic could face the death penalty if convicted of the charges, according to the Associated Press, and is currently being held without bond.
