Chalk up a victory for normalcy and a loss for racism and hatred. As we reported last week, students in New York state cried wolf saying that they were assaulted and accosted by 10-12 white people while on a bus, saying it was a racially charged attack. Then the videos came out and showed them to be the people assaulting everyone else. Now, they’ve appeared in court and have been charged. What they’re charged with will make you stand up and cheer for justice, democracy, and police work!
Three University at Albany students who claimed they were victims of a racial attack on a bus last month have been charged with assault as prosecutors said they were actually the aggressors. Alexis Briggs, Ariel Agudio and Asha Burwell, all 20 years old, appeared at Albany City Criminal Court today for their arraignment. ‘The evidence indicates they were actually the aggressors in the physical altercation, and that they continued to assault the victim despite the efforts of several passengers to stop them,’ police said in a statement. In addition to the charges of assault and false reporting, Agudio faces counts of attempted assault, harassment and criminal mischief, CNN reported. Burwell has also been charged with harassment. The false reporting charges are a result of the 911 phone calls she and Agudio made after the incident. This world is so concerned with being PC that stories like this make me feel good about the future. So many people, no matter the race, are trying to take advantage of others and the judicial system by calling everything under the sun racist. Thankfully, this time justice has been served and will hopefully serve as a reminder that people should think before accusing others of something they did not do at all.
I also hope it shows all of today’s culture that you’re innocent until proven guilty. Don’t judge until all the facts are in! Good riddance to these criminals and horrible humans!
